December 26th, Kyle and I went to Chicago. I was interested in toll booth because there are cash/credit lane and i-zone which is like ETC. Chicago is a big city, but my first impression of Chicago is that there is a little bit dirty. However, there are fashion street and business street, so I felt this is the city. Night view was beautiful. Especially, night view which is from high up in a hotel downtown. Tokyo doesn’t sleep, but I knew that Chicago also doesn’t sleep. At night, there were ambulance sounds and cars honking. We went to Botanic garden, The Art Institute of Chicago, and Willis tower. In the Botanic garden there were a lot of kind of plants, flowers, and animals made from plants. Also there were Japanese garden which is expressed characteristic of Japanese garden, Japanese atmosphere. These were very beautiful. In The Art Institute of Chicago there were a lot of arts which are distinct design. we walked very hard. Willis tower was a very high. There was see through place that you can walk on. I was a little scared, but it was fun though. I was tired about waiting for two hours to high up the building. During waiting, I found researchers who are from famous news TV show in Japan. I was surprised. To sum up, Torch Lake to Chicago round trip took 11 hours, but it was very good experience and memories. Thank you for everyone=)

December 22nd, Kyle and I went to the Torch lake to spend Christmas with Kyle’s family. On the way, we went to the Frankenmuth. There were a lot of illumination outside and a lot of beautiful Ornaments inside. Around Torch lake was that temperature is low and dry, but snow was a little bit. As soon as we arrived house near Torch lake, we decorated Christmas tree. On Christmas day a.m, Kyle and Kyle’s family and I changed the christmas presents. I was very glad to get a lot of presents. After that, Kyle’s mother said, “A lot of turkeys are waking on the street “, so Kyle and I were trying to look for the turkey. We saw the turkey which are walking on the big street, so we followed the turkey. Unfortunately, even though car came to near the turkey, they didn’t move. I tried to go them away from the big street. Finally, they ran for the hills. Kyle has taken the picture which are Turkey and I were waking the big street. In the afternoon,everyone has spent relax time themselves. In the evening, everyone who is Kyle’s family include Kyle’s cousin and uncle went to the Christmas dinner in the Kyle’s grand mother and father’s house. Everyone was enjoyed the special dinner. At the night, Kyle and Kyle’s family and I played Yahtzee. The game is like try my luck, so I enjoyed very much. I had a wonderful time to be on this Christmas. Thank you for having wonderful time with me.
Before Christmas, Kyle and I got a christmas tree which is approximately seven feet. After that, we decorated this tree with pretty and sweet stuffs. For example, there are clear crystal, colorful bells, white lights, santa claus dolls, and Kyle’s stuffs there. Our room has been changed Christmas version since beginning of December. I like it. This Christmas, I’m looking forward to spending time with Kyle and Kyle’s family in U.S.

November 24th, Thursday. Today was Thanksgiving Day. It was holiday. I learned that this holiday is in U.S. and Canada. Kyle and I went to Kyle’s parents house at 1 p.m to help their cooking. Main dish was 18 pound turkey, and other dishes were sweet potato with marshmallow, gravy, stuffing, mushed potato, broccoli with orange and butter sauce, and soft bread. Everything was very delicious. I was interested in that Kyle’s grandpa had cut the turkey for 30 minute.
All in all, turkey was huge, so I was surprised by turkey size again. I learned one of American culture.

November 5th, I went to East Lansing to see American football game with Kyle. Place was Michigan State of University Stadium. Kyle is from MSU. A opponent was University of Minnesota. Several thousand of Crowed came to there. Our seats was next to students. Students of cheering was very powerful. I remembered spirit day in middle school. Students of cheering was powerful as same as middle school students of cheering. In the fight, Michigan State was won. We ware glad to see their lot of team-play and their amazing techniques by them.
October 31st, It was Halloween. Before Halloween, I went to pumpkin patch to get good pumpkin. After, I went to Kyle’s parents house to make jack-o-lantern. My pumpkin looked like Japanese jack-o-lantern. Everybody may be able to guess my pumpkin of the other pumpkins. Kyle’s sister’s boyfriend said, “Wow. Ami’s is crazy!” Was my pumpkin so aw-some, wasn’t it? After, Kyle invited me going to the great house. There was a lot of scary dolls which are skulls, zombies, pirates, and etc. It was one of house, but it had great entertainment. A lot of crowed came to there. In Halloween day, put on candles in the pumpkins, then spaced out it in front of Kyle’s house. Kyle’s house had a lot of Halloween things. I was impressed. Then we sat down on the sofa, were talking, and were waiting for children. Between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., we were heard children voices outside of house. They are screaming,”Trick or Treat!!” That was exactly I wanted to see things. Begging of time, children were very cute costumes which were fairly, magician, animals, and baseball player. End of time, children looked like thief or gang. They asked me, “Can I go to the toilet?” and “Can I have a glass of water?” I was dumbfounded at what they said. This is the first time experience of real Halloween. It was fun=)
In the beginning of July, I came back to Japan from England to get ticket to America. Japan had not changed while when I was in England. However, humidity was higher than I imagined, so, I was worried about weariness from the heat of summer. But my body adapted to Japanese life quickly. Then I got student Visa from US embassy. I left Japan less than several days after to go to America on July 21st. As soon as I arrived at the Detroit airport, I saw Kyle. Although he had job,he welcome to me with his smile. I was happy but it had been so long since I saw Kyle, it was like meeting him for the first time. I had a jet lag. I slept a lot even daytime. I saw the condominium which is our house. I was surprised because it’s huge than I thought, beautiful, and it has pretty garden. It was the first impression. From the next day in the evening, we went to Torch lake which is more than three and half hours by driving from condo. It was absolutely beautiful lake, so I was impressed very much. I also enjoyed bonfire, cooking s’ mores by bonfire, and especially countless stars and shooting stars. Silent of night, we arranged the chairs and saw them.
My America’s life started. Everything is new things, so my anxiety is a lot. I missed family, friends. But I will do my best as much as I can. This way is which is I decided by myself and I also decided with Kyle. I will walk this way. I don’t know how long this way. Is it long and rocky? Or is it long, but flat? Nobody knows. Stumbling, falling to the ground, I will walk on foots as long as I can.
